Research
Rigorous and excellent research is the cornerstone of any good project, idea, business plan, and organizational program/policy.
With over 8 years of experience and expertise in research and data & information management, I conduct the qualitative and/or quantitative research that you need to inform your project and ensure that it has a solid foundation based on ethical empirical data.
Along with extensive research, I produce a conclusive report of research findings that includes a detailed methodological framework, a thorough discussion of the research results & observations, as well as next steps and recommendations based on your priorities, objectives and intended outcomes. I will also produce any additional content (social media posts, blogs, presentations, newsletters etc.) you require for disseminating the research data to a diverse audience including clients, stakeholders, academics, and industry partners.
Let’s connect and discuss how I can support your vision, plan, project, or idea with a research agenda designed to produce the empirical data that will strengthen the quality, social relevance, and impact of your work as it takes into consideration the current situational context of your project, as well as a diversity of perspectives and lived experiences representative of your field, target audience, industry, and community.
Mentoring
Having mostly survived and then later thrived through Graduate School, I support other graduate students (Master’s and PhD) build the confidence and resilience needed to succeed and graduate.
Community and mentorship make all the difference in navigating Grad School feeling empowered, affirmed, and supported. I get it! I’ve been there. So, I’ll be your personal cheerleader a.k.a. best hype-woman eeever, your accountability partner and tour guide through these academic streets so you’re not only book-smart but grad-school-savvy as well.
I’ve been in your shoes and I can help you cross the finish line with your sanity and degree in hand. More so as a former international student, I understand the culture shock of a new education system + the additional administrative somersaults unique to us that we must navigate outside the classroom. I also totally get the pressures of chapter and paper deadlines, the oftentimes confusing degree requirements, as well as the general stress and insecurities that come with being in academia.
Every student has unique needs, strengths, and weaknesses so my approach is to provide tailored support that is personalized and flexible. You’re always in the driver’s seat of your academic journey and I merely come alongside you with emotional and mental support, quality resources, tips, encouragement, a listening ear and a brain to pick so you don’t just merely survive but thrive and enjoy your Grad School experience.
You really don’t need my help; I can confidently assume you’ve got this otherwise you wouldn’t even be in Grad School to begin with so I know you’ve got what it takes to succeed! But if you’d like some extra wisdom to help navigate your Grad School experience with more fun, ease and know-how then let’s chat and see how I can best support you.
Consulting
I am an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Research Specialist who can help you and your organization cultivate a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.
Every organization and project is unique so when it comes to consulting, I take a bespoke approach for each organization and/or project based on its needs, priorities, work scope, budget, timeline for deliverables and intended outcomes. But generally speaking, my consulting process at a glance looks like this:
Phase 1: I will conduct an EDI audit to assess and better understand your current situation
Phase 2: Based on the results and findings in the previous stage, I will help you design and develop an impactful EDI strategy aligned with your organizational needs and priorities, one that takes into consideration both individual behaviours and systemic factors (organizational policies, structures, systems, and procedures).
Phase 3: I will monitor and review the implementation of the EDI strategy, providing aftercare and helping you through the transition
My main objective is to always produce tangible EDI action items with measurable outcomes for your organization that blend the pragmatic and personal through trust-building, transparency, and ethical data collection while fostering a sense of respect, safety, and belonging.
Let’s chat and discuss how I can support you and your organization in your EDI initiatives.
